How's Your Lent Going So Far?

So far so good at my house. We all met at the refrigerator at midnight. I used to feel guilty about that, but one year I texted my spiritual director at 11:59 and asked him if that was a sin, and he texted back saying that he, too, had his hand on the refrigerator door at 11:59. So now it's a family ritual.
First things first --- Update on Pope Francis. "The pope slept through the night and is resting peacefully." Rinse and repeat. A cycnical person -- not I, mind you, but a cynical person -- might be needing a proof of life video about right now.
Fresh Catches
There are a LOT of good links today, so Ink and I are just going to let them speak for themselves. If we need to vent later, we'll be back.
The good stuff:
(7) From the Irony Files: Fetterman tells unhinged democrats how stupid they look.
(16) No Honor Among Thieves: moderate democrats speak up. (Who knew there were moderate democrats? Those must be the ones who will only kill babies up until their due date.)
(17) Yet another clown show: Al Green censure turns chaotic. (What a surprise.)
And finally:
Ink's Comment of the Day:
"Whatever."
Keep a sharp eye on Europe. Stunning... https://youtu.be/7lvDTNHH0IU?si=anvB0jAWga9yScUu
Love you, Karen!
Congrats on the launch of your new blog. Looking forward to keeping up with it. Lent was never something that was emphasized in my denomination, but anytime I have tried it, I have seen spiritual growth. I was already thinking about giving something up this year. Then last night, it became clear that I would probably benefit from giving up Facebook. It’s such a big distraction and I hate that I’m only half listening to my sons as I’m posting some nonsense, while they are trying to have a conversation with me. NOT GOOD! Probably the final confirmation that this was the right decision came when I made a post in a FB screenwriters group. I posted this link…https://www.write-la.com/post/why-the-oscars-made-me-sad-and-annoyed?mc_cid=f5954baac0&mc_eid=679e17bb75 along with this pull quote…
